Alexa Fluor dyes and Zenon: A perfect combination for Flow Cytometry

Flow Cytometry has the capability of showing us the almost invisible in cells by using target specific molecules, like antibodies, labelled with fluorescent dyes. This presentation will discuss Molecular Probes’ efforts to create a series of organic fluorescent Alexa Fluor dyes that have superior fluorescence properties.

In addition Molecular Probes has developed a technique for fast and versatile labelling of antibodies with a selection of fluorescent labels and enzymes. This technology, named Zenon Technology, has proven to be a very useful technique for the labelling of antibodies to be used in Flow Cytometry. The development of this technique and several of its applications will be discussed.
